Armrests & door-card inserts by post

Centre armrests, door-top rolls and door-card inserts recovered by hand in your choice of leather, quoted from photos and returned to your door.

Armrests and door cards take more punishment than almost any other trim in a car: elbows, seatbelt buckles, wedding rings and winter coats all leave their mark. The good news is that most of these parts unbolt or unclip, fit in a box, and suit our By Post service perfectly: quote from photos, post the part, and get it back retrimmed by hand.

What ships well

The best postal candidates are parts that are small, rigid and removable:

  • Centre armrests: console lids and sliding armrests, usually held by a few screws or a hinge pin.
  • Door-card inserts and armrest sections: many cars have separate insert panels or armrest pads that come away from the main door card.
  • Door-top rolls: the padded roll along the window line, a classic wear point on older cars.
  • Full door cards: postable if boxed flat with padding, though they need a bigger box and more care.
  • Other small trim: headrests, sun visors, console lids and similar panels. If it fits in a box, it's worth asking.

Not sure whether your part comes off, or whether it's worth doing? Send a photo before you touch anything: that's exactly what the photo quote is for.

Photo-based quoting

Every postal trim job starts with photos, and it works in your favour. A shot of the part in place, a close-up of the wear, and your car's make and model tell us the size, the shape, how it's likely fixed and what condition the base is in. From that we give you a firm price and honest advice, including telling you if a part is borderline, if the substrate needs attention, or if a seat repair approach would be better value than a full retrim. Nothing comes off your car until you've seen the number.

In the workshop

Once your part arrives (we confirm the moment it lands) it goes to our lead trimmer Craig, who has 15 years' experience in automotive trimming. The old covering is stripped, the base and foam are checked, and the new material is cut and trimmed to the part by hand: tight corners, even tension, and stitching where the original design calls for it. You choose the leather, the colour and the stitch colour, and we can match your existing interior from a photo or carry through the exact hide from a previous Ultimate Trim job on your car, whether that was a steering wheel or a full leather interior.

When it's finished you approve photos, and the part is padded, boxed and returned to your door by courier. Refitting is the removal in reverse: most customers have their armrest back on the car in minutes. And if you'd rather talk it through in person first, you're always welcome to visit the workshop at Unit 6 Carrock Road, Wirral.

How a postal trim order works

  1. 1

    Send photos for a quote

Photograph the armrest or panel in place and close up, showing any wear, and tell us your car's make and model. We quote from the photos, so you know the price before anything comes off the car.

  2. 2

    Remove and post the part

Unbolt or unclip the part (armrest lids and many door inserts come off with basic tools) and post it well padded to Unit 6 Carrock Road, Wirral, CH62 3RA. We confirm the moment it arrives.

  3. 3

    Stripped and retrimmed by hand

Craig strips the old covering, repairs or replaces tired foam where needed, and hand-trims the part in your chosen leather with your choice of stitch colour.

  4. 4

    Approve and return

You approve photos of the finished part, then it's packaged carefully and returned to your door by courier, ready to bolt or clip back in.

Armrest & door-card FAQs

What ships well by post?

Anything small, rigid and removable: centre armrest lids, door-card inserts, door-top rolls, headrests and similar panels. Full door cards can be posted too if boxed flat and well padded. If you're not sure whether your part is suitable, send a photo and we'll tell you straight away.

How does photo-based quoting work?

You send photos of the part in place and close up, along with your car's make and model and the finish you want. Because we can see the size, shape and condition, we can give you a firm price and flag anything unusual before you remove or post the part.

Can you match my existing interior?

Yes: send a photo of your seats or trim and we'll match the colour and grain as closely as the available hides allow, or deliberately contrast it if you prefer. If we've already retrimmed other parts of your car, we can use the identical leather and thread.

The foam under my armrest has collapsed, can you sort that too?

Tired or compressed foam is common on well-used armrests. Ask us about foam repair when you request your quote and include a photo showing how the part sits.

How long will my parts be away?

It depends on the parts and our current workload. We confirm expected timings in your quote before you post anything, and your car stays usable while smaller pieces like armrests are with us.
