A Mercedes-Benz cabin is supposed to feel a cut above: soft-touch surfaces, generous seats and the sense that everything was built to last two owners, not one. When the upholstery starts to let that impression down, whether it is a cracked driver's bolster, hardened man-made trim or simply a spec that feels plainer than the badge deserves, a bespoke retrim brings the interior back up to the standard of the car. Leatherette, leather and everything between
One thing worth knowing about the marque is that a great many Mercedes models were supplied with a durable man-made upholstery rather than genuine leather, and plenty of owners only discover this when the surface begins to stiffen, shine or peel. That material served its purpose, but it cannot be re-dyed or conditioned back to health the way hide can. A retrim in genuine leather is the permanent fix, and because we pattern from your original covers, the new trim keeps the factory seam lines and fit while upgrading everything you touch. The looks owners ask for
Mercedes retrims tend to fall into two camps. The first is quiet luxury: a single rich colour, soft-handle hide, tone-on-tone stitching and perhaps contrast piping, an interior that looks like a very good factory spec rather than an aftermarket one. The second takes cues from the marque's flagship trims: diamond-quilted seat centres, bold contrast stitching, two-tone splits such as black over cream or deep red, and leather extended across armrests, door inserts and console panels. Both are built the same way, patterned from your seats and made by hand, so the choice is purely about taste. Built around the technology
Modern Mercedes seats are dense with equipment: side airbags in the bolsters, occupancy sensors, heating elements and, on some cars, ventilation behind perforated panels. All of it has to be respected during a retrim. Airbag seams must be constructed correctly so deployment is not compromised, and perforation needs to be reproduced where the hardware requires it. Craig, our lead trimmer, has 15 years' experience with exactly this kind of strip-down and rebuild, and every cover is cut and stitched by hand at our workshop on the Wirral. If your car does not already have heated seats, a retrim is the ideal time to add them.

Yes. Many Mercedes-Benz models left the factory with a hard-wearing man-made upholstery rather than leather, and upgrading to genuine hide is one of the most common retrims we are asked for. Your existing covers are used as the pattern, so the new leather fits the seats the way the original trim did.
My Mercedes has man-made leatherette rather than real leather. Can you retrim it in genuine hide?
Yes. Diamond quilting and similar stitched patterns across the seat centres are well within what we build, and you can choose the quilt size, thread colour and panel layout rather than being limited to a factory menu. Try combinations in our online design tool before you commit.
Can you reproduce the quilted seat look from the top Mercedes trims?
It is something we need to know about, rather than a problem. Perforated sections and the hardware beneath them have to be handled correctly during the strip-down and reproduced properly in the new covers. Tell us your model and spec when you enquire and we will advise on the right approach.
My seats are perforated for heating or ventilation. Does that complicate a retrim?
Often, yes. On many older Mercedes the driver's seat wears years ahead of the rest of the cabin. We can retrim or repair a single seat and colour-match against your existing trim, and we will tell you honestly if a match against faded upholstery is going to be difficult.
