Custom leather car seats, made and fitted by hand

A car seat retrim is the single biggest upgrade you can make to the inside of your vehicle. Whether your original upholstery is worn beyond repair, you have bought a car whose cloth interior lets the rest of it down, or you simply want something no factory options list could offer, a bespoke leather interior transforms how your car looks, feels and holds its value.

At Ultimate Trim, every interior is made by hand in our workshop at Unit 6 Carrock Road on the Wirral. Our lead trimmer Craig has 15 years' experience trimming everything from daily drivers and classics to campervans and boats, and he works on your seats personally. This is a craft workshop, not a production line.

What a full retrim involves

A retrim is a complete leather seat replacement: your seats are stripped back to the frames and foam, and brand-new covers, patterned precisely from your originals, are made and fitted. Because we pattern from your own seats rather than buying in generic kits, the finished trim fits the way factory upholstery does: tight, wrinkle-free and correctly tensioned around every bolster and contour. Where the foam underneath has softened or collapsed, we can rebuild or rejuvenate it at the same time, so the seat feels right as well as looking right.

We can retrim front seats only, the full interior, or extend the leather across door cards, armrests and centre console sections for a fully coordinated cabin.

Make it yours

This is where a bespoke retrim earns its keep. Every element of the design is your choice, with Craig's guidance on what works:

• Colours: a single colour throughout, two-tone combinations, or accent panels that pick out your car's exterior.
• Stitch colours: subtle tone-on-tone stitching for an OEM look, or contrast stitching that makes the seams a feature.
• Insert patterns: plain panels, classic diamond quilting, traditional fluting, or a modern hex pattern across the seat centres.
• Piping: colour-matched or contrast piping to define the edges of each panel.

Heated seats, fitted invisibly

A retrim is the perfect opportunity to add heated seats. Because the seats are already stripped down, our heated seat pads can be installed beneath the new leather with no visible sign they were ever an aftermarket addition, just a discreet switch in the cabin. If winter mornings are part of your commute, it is one of the most-appreciated upgrades we fit.

You are welcome to visit the workshop, but you do not have to be local to use us. We offer nationwide onsite fitting: your interior is manufactured here in the Wirral, and we travel to fit it at your home or workplace. For many customers that means the car is off the road for far less time than a traditional workshop booking.
