Ultimate Trim is a vehicle upholstery workshop at Unit 6 Carrock Road on the Wirral. Everything we make (leather interiors, campervan seating, marine upholstery, repairs) is cut, stitched and fitted by hand, here in the workshop.
The work is led by Craig, our lead trimmer, who has spent 15 years at the bench. Trimming is one of those trades where there is no substitute for time served: knowing how a hide behaves when you pull it over a bolster, where a seam will take strain, how a pattern needs to change from one seat frame to the next. That experience is what customers are really buying when they bring a vehicle to us.
What we do
We work across road, camper and water:
- Custom leather car seats and full leather interiors
- Campervan interiors: seats, beds and living-space upholstery
- Boat and marine upholstery
- Classic car interiors
- Seat repairs: bolster wear, tears, sagging and burns
- Steering wheels and smaller trim
- Heated seat fitting and bespoke seat covers
If your job doesn't fit neatly into one of those boxes, ask anyway. Most interesting work doesn't.
How we think about the craft
Bespoke means bespoke. We don't fit off-the-shelf kits and call it a retrim. Each interior is patterned for the vehicle in front of us and for the person who'll sit in it: your choice of leather, colours, stitching and insert design, with Craig's guidance on what will wear well and what won't.
Materials are half the job. The best stitching in the world can't rescue a poor hide. We'd always rather you saw and handled materials before choosing, which is why we encourage customers to visit the workshop, compare grains and check colours in natural light rather than trusting a photo.
Do it once, properly. An interior gets sat on, knelt on, baked in sun and soaked by wet coats for years. Cutting corners shows up eventually, so we don't cut them: foamwork, fixings and the parts nobody sees get the same care as the surfaces everyone does.

Can't get to the Wirral? You don't have to:
- Nationwide onsite fitting: for suitable jobs such as heated seat installation, certain repairs and fitting pre-made bespoke covers, we come to your location across the UK; work is prepared at the workshop first.
- Ultimate Trim By Post: steering wheels, gear gaiters and other smaller items retrimmed by courier, no visit required.
- Design your seat online: build your colour and stitch combination in our online designer, then send it straight to the workshop for a quote.
